The Giver
Evidence:
-I did the music for our film in garage band
-I am one of the actors in the film (The Giver)
Steps:
1) We chose the film we were going to do
2) We picked the scene we were gonna do
3) We chose what characters/jobs we were gonna portray
4) We then drew the storyboard for our scene
5) We went out looking for a place to shoot
6) While we were waiting we grabbed mics. and practiced with them getting a good feel for how they work and how to level the audio
7) We went down to the Pac for a couple days at first to do blocking and to practice going over lines
8) When it was time to film we headed down to the PAC everyday, 3 of us getting the equipment ready while one of us (Me) would head down and set all the lights
9) When we finished we stayed back in the film room while we worked on our sound and on editing our film clips
10) When we finished editing them we added them to the timeline to create the re-make
11) After we finished with everything we made it into an Mp4 and put it onto youtube before bringing it here and completing this assignment
Discuss:
-If I was able to complete the assignment again then I would recommend using another scene that truly shows government/politics
-I would definitely keep the lights and the way we could operate them and make it seem like it was in a dark room but at the same time little light showing. I would keep that.
Reverse Engineering Film Project
First step to remaking the film clip was finding a location to shoot it properly. Then the director had to get all of the release forms from the class to be able to go to the library. Also, the writer needed to recreate the script and decide who was going to act. The sound designer needed to find out what the best method of recording the actor's speaking was best. The camera man had to make a list of all the shots so we had something to go off while making recreating the clip. We then had to practice for the first couple of days how to set everything up to shoot quicker and more efficiently. We set up the green screen in the back so the cars from the real shot would be put into ours. The actors had to also study their lines during all of this. We got the costumes for the actors and found the light that was the best for our scene. After we did all of that we finally started really shooting each day and then eventually finished. Then we got the car clip by recording the road and putting in the background in Premier Pro. We edited all of the clips together and finally fully finished when we combined the old clip to the new one to show them in comparison to each other.
We successfully got very good outfits and memorized the lines. All of the beginning parts before the actual filming we got done pretty fast. I would recommend if we did this again the group as a whole be less divided and all of us trying harder to get it done quicker because we fell a bit behind. Lastly, I would have taken the clip of the cars myself instead of having my dad do it.
